Ok so I recorded this song 5 minutes ago and as promised I am uploading it to here. I'd thought I'd be clear some things, so before you listen to it take the time out to read this little peice of self indulgance.
Things I hate about it:
The Vocals: I'm one of those guys who hates the sound of their own voice, literally straight after recording this song I gave it a listen and actually cringed at my singing. It's fucking terrible, but there's nothing I can do about that really so there you go. I guess my voice will have to do under the circumstances.
The Recording Quality: I recorded it life using my mac microphone and GarageBand and it sounds utter shit. You get a lot of fuzz in your speakers so again I'm sorry about that. Oh well, it could be classed as "Lo-Fi" in which case I will proabably be classed as a Hipster. Which I am cool with, because in my opinion the word Hipster is bullshit. But that's another argument entirely.
Things I like about it:
The Lyrics: I wrote this song on a whim and it completely sums up how I feel about the town where I come from, I've wanted to write a song that disses my hometown and the people that live there (apart from all my lovely mates I have back there) for ages, so here it is. It feel it is just me being 100% Honest about my feelings for the boring shithole that is my town. It's like New York, I love you but you're bringing me down, except it's Horsham, I hate you so please fuck off.
The Melody: I love my guitar playing on this one, I thought up the riff quickly in my head and I am proud of it.

The Life and Lies of an artist who wants to "Make It"
Hey Hey Hey Guys,
My name is Haydn Davies and I am indeed a Singer Songwriter based in sunny (yeah right!) London. In an attempt to stop being a lazy bum as far as songwriting is concerned, I have decided to start up this blog where I will post 5 songs a week and talk about them in full detail. Yes, you've read that correctly, 5 songs a week, or 5 songs whenever I feel like it. Basically, I have decided that if I want to write a good song then I'll have to write a bunch of rubbish songs before I get to that golden good one, and to make things interesting for me I have decided to create this little blog to upload all these songs that I have written REGARDLESS of whether I think that they are shit or not. As the blog title suggests, I'm not really holding out for anything inspired. I just need a place where I can write bullshit and be as self indulgent as I want, and this place is it.
Tom Robinson did a lecture at my uni and told us that Carole King woke up every day at 9oclock and wrote songs till 5 then went home and did her thing. Well, I can't wake up at 9oclock but I can write songs whenever I can. Literally, when I'm not drinking/going to uni/ doing uni coursework/eating, writing songs is what I will be doing, and I will upload all these songs on here for your listening pleasure/torture, and like it or not, I will spam your facebook wall with my status updates linking you to these songs.
ON TOP OF THAT: This will be a brilliant place for me to promote any gigs that I've got coming up, and at the moment I've got none, which is really fucking depressing me.
